Anne McGrory attended the Rhode Island School of Design. Since graduating with a BFA, majoring in Illustration, Anne has had a diverse career as a jewelry designer, model maker, sculptor and painter.
As a jewelry designer for The Touch Inc., in Belmont Massachusetts, she designed and modeled detailed representational pieces, with a focus on birds and wildlife. Her jewelry was produced for private commissions, and the wholesale jewelry industry, in either gold or silver, sometimes incrusted with precious stones.
She sculpted limited edition wildlife and western themed pieces, in both small scale and miniature, for the Chilmark collection in Hudson Ma. Her miniature reproductions for Chilmark included the bronze works of Remington, Russell and Fraser. Through Chilmark, Anne received a commission to reproduce a Degas bronze horse for the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston Massachusetts.
A holiday ornament depicting the Vice President’s residence at the Naval Observatory for then Vice President Dan Quayle was commissioned by New England Pewter Company. Anne was also hired by Facsimiles of Nashua N.H. to reproduce in miniature “The two faces of literature”, a relief sculpture which adorns the north entrance for the library of congress in Washington DC.
In recent years she has returned to her love of painting. Anne works in pastel, oil and acrylics. Today her focus is on still life and New England landscapes. She maintains her residence and studio in New Hampshire with her husband Bernie and daughter Sarah.
